Syrian Air-Defense Downs Israeli Missiles South of Damascus

Syria downed at least two Israeli missiles south of Damascus using its air-defense S-200 batteries, according to local television that showed images of the interception.

The explosions, no less than five, were heard in all of the capital and according to media reports the attack was launched against areas of Kiswee, some 15 kilometers south of Damascus.

This type of attack is perpetrated by Israeli planes that do not violate the Syrian air space, but launch the missiles from over Palestine occupied land and the Golan Heights.

Kiswee region has been attacked the same way three times in the past months, with Israel making no comment. So far, neither human victim nor material damage was reported.
