At least nine patients have been killed after a fire broke out in a public hospital in northern Taiwan, authorities say.
Fire inspectors view damages after a fire broke out at the Taipei Hospital in Hsinchuang, New Taipei City, Taiwan, on Monday.
The fire at the New Taipei hospital's hospice care centre, which houses at least 33 critically ill patients, broke out on Monday, the state run Central News Agency reports.
More than 20 patients were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and of them nine were pronounced dead with 10 others in a critical condition.
