Release of hostages and prisoners was in focus of the 7th round of Syrian peace talks in Astana, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, conducted the meetings with the delegations of Syrian Government and armed operation attending the 7th round of Astana process.
"Both delegations expressed gratefulness to the Government of Kazakhstan for the consistent position on peaceful settlement in Syria, and good organization of negotiation process, they informed the Minister about their positions and the hottest issues of the agenda, they also reported about the progress of discussion of the ways to sustainable peace in Syria," reads the message.
"The focus was made on release of hostages and prisoners, transfer of bodies of the deceased and search of missing people, demining of vast areas and provision of access of humanitarian aid to different settlements of the state," reads the message.
