France''s President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Addis Ababa Wednesday to begin a two-day official visit to Ethiopia.
Macron will meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his counterpart Sahle-Work Zewde, according to an official note from Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He will discuss bilateral diplomatic relations and economic cooperation with both leaders, as well as other issues of regional and global interest.
The French politician will also visit Lalibela, a small town in the Amhara region in northern Ethiopia, whose hills contain a series of rock churches excavated from the reddish basaltic rock, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978.
France has made a commitment to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Ethiopian Government to contribute to the restoration and maintenance of these temples.
