3 dead, multiple injured in Florida Yoga studio shooting

A gunman shot dead two people and injured several others at a Yoga studio in Florida's state capital Tallahassee on Friday before killing himself.

City Police Chief Michael DeLeo told reporters, "At 5.47 pm, the Tallahassee Police Department responded in reference to a shooting."

Upon arriving on scene, the officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was pistol-whipped, the police said, adding there were indications that several people inside fought back and tried to not only save themselves but other people too.

"The suspect is deceased and one victim has passed away," DeLeo said.

One of the wounded, who was in a critical condition, later succumbed to his injuries.

The gunman appeared to have acted alone and there was no immediate threat to the Tallahassee community.

The police have neither released the name of the gunman nor the motive for the attack.
