Venezuela Will Denounce at UN U.S. Hostile Strategy

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said that he will denounce to the UN the strategies against his country by governments like the United States and other countries following Washington.

We come to this multilateral body to denounce the campaigns against Venezuela promoted by those seeking to take control of the resources of that country, with its oil, he told the press accredited at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The Government of Caracas no longer submits to the dictates of the United States as in the past, and now more than ever we defend our people, as well as international peace and security, he said.

On the meeting that is being convened by Colombia to discuss about the Venezuelan migration, Arreaza indicated that since the presence of international donors is foreseen, Venezuelan authorities have plans to go as well.

So we could use that context and summon resources to finance the repatriation of compatriots who want to return from Peru, Ecuador, Buenos Aires, Dominican Republic, Brazil, he added.

My country has historically been a recipient of migrants and even so we have never resorted to international bodies to accuse, attack or discredit anyone, he said and talked about how he maintains contacts with the United Nations Agency for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister also briefly exchanged views in the framework of the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit with the Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who spoke for the first time before the main United Nations body, the General Assembly.
