Turkey still continues to keep the border with Armenia closed, Armenian president Serj Sarkisyan Munich Security Conferene, APAreports citing Interfax.

“It seems that the clock stopped ticking there. I am convinced that Armenia has taken all the possible measures in order to overcome that impasse. I initiated a process of normalization of the relations between Armenia and Turkey, which could have created new opportunities for both of our nations and the region at large” – he said.

Serj Sarkisyan said the Protocols that Armenia and Turkey had signed back in 2009 remained on the paper. “Turkey not only failed to ratify these documents, but also came up with preconditions that had no connection whatsoever with the Protocols. It was nothing but a failure to take advantage of the historic opportunity.”

"Does Azerbaijan interfere with the establishment of relations with Armenia by Turkey? No. The main obstacle is the lack of political will among the leaders of Turkey, we can not wait for Turkey's reciprocal steps forever," the Armenian President noted.

According to him, the protocols were signed on the basis of existing conditions.

"If Turkey wants to wait for new conditions and only after that ratifies the protocols, it is mistaken." Under the new conditions, negotiations should be held on a new document. "Armenia does not speak the language of preconditions, but does not accept the precondition from anyone," the president said. Armenia.
