The Government of Turkey encourages the Astana process and is interested in it, said Abdullah Gul, ex president of Turkey.
"Astana
process is very important, because for the first time the conflicting
parties initiated negotiations. At least partially, but cease fire was
provided," he said on the sidelines of Astana club on Monday.
In his words, the events in neighboring Syria affect Turkey and make a big problem.
"From
the human point of view, when people suffer, when people lose their
lives, Turkish Government supports the Astana process and is very
interested in it," he said.
As previously reported, the7th international meeting on Syrian crisis settlement was held in Astana on October 30-31.
