"Our key goal is to beef up the institutions, as well as the Lebanese
army and security forces, so that they lay control over the Lebanese
soil. This is what is supposed to happen, and it will! I affirm that
President Michel Aoun is more determined to achieve this than anybody
else," Hariri told a reception ceremony hosted by the Lebanese Embassy
in Washington on Tuesday.
"It is important to us to come to Washington and meet with
the officials, to explain to them the importance of Lebanon in the
region and what we are doing to clinch stability in our country," he
said, highlighting the importance of agreement among the political
parties.
"During this visit, we discussed Lebanon's interest, which
lies within preserving stability, reinforcing the Lebanese army,
developing the national economy, and helping the Syrian refugees," he
added.
Separately, Hariri met with a delegation of Future Movement in Washington.
