Within hours of suspension, Twitter reinstates Al-Jazeera Arabic channel

Main twitter account of Qatar-based broadcaster Al-Jazeera has been reinstated.

@AJArabic, the official account of the news channel, that was suspended today morning has been reinstated within few hours. The account was again active with almost all its followers and tweets active. The reasons for its suspension has not been reported. 

The suspension was announced by the director-general of the channel Yasser Abu Hilala.

Hilala had tweeted on his social media account that the main account has been suspended and the team is working to address the issue. He said that there has been continuous attempt to jam the twitter account. 

AJArabic is the most popular twitter account in Qatar with 11.1mn followers.

The broadcaster had been under widescale cyber attack on June 8 which had then targeted all systems according to a statement released on social media.
