Representatives of Russia and Syria discussed preparation of Congress of Syrian national dialogue in Sochi

Mikhail Bogdanov, special envoy of Russian president in Near East and states of Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, discussed preparation of the Congress of Syrian national dialogue in Sochi with Riyad Haddad, ambassador of Syria to Moscow, reports TASS news agency.

"The parties have discussed the situation in Sochi and around it with the emphasis on the complex of issues of political regulation of Syrian crisis. They discussed preparation of the Congress of Syrian national dialogue in Sochi," reads the message,

The negotiations have been initiated by the Syrian side.

The Congress of Syrian national dialogue will be held in Sochi on January 29-30. Up to 1500 delegates will take part in the congress. Besides Syrian representatives, observers, first of all from the UN will take part in the meeting. Within the frameworks of the meeting the parties plan to create a commission for development of Syrian Constitution.
