Telegraph - A British aide to US president Donald Trump will be leaving the White House, according to reports.
The official said that Mr Gorka, who serves as deputy assistant to the president, had initially been hired to play a key role on the Strategic Initiatives Group, an advisory panel created by Mr Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon to run parallel to the National Security Council.
But that group fizzled out in the early months of the administration. Mr Gorka was unable to get clearance for the National Security Council after he was charged last year with carrying a weapon at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The official spoke anonymously to discuss private personnel matters, AP reported. Attempts to reach Mr Gorka by email for comment were not immediately successful, the news agency added.
CNN reported that "several administration officials" confirmed that Mr Gorka, who grew up in West London, is expected to leave his job.
One source told CNN that the British aide is expected to find an opportunity outside the White House soon, while another said it's possible he would take another job in the administration, but added it's more likely he will leave altogether. That official told CNN that Mr Gorka was generating too much controversy, the television network reported.
