Iran earns 350 mln USD from machine-made carpet's exports annually

Iran's machine-made carpet's exports bring 350 million U.S. dollars for the country annually, a board member of Iran Textile Specialists Association was quoted as saying by Eghtesad online news website on Sunday.

Iran exports 700 million dollars of textile products annually, and machine-made carpets account for half of Iran's textile exports, Alireza Haeri said.

"Last year, 90 million square meters of machine-made carpets were produced in Iran, of which 60 million square meters were sold domestically," and the rest was exported, he added.

Iran has the capacity to produce up to 120 million square meters of machine-made carpet annually, Haeri noted.
