A new investigation into an Israeli police raid at the Al-Makassed Hospital in occupied East Jerusalem last month has been caught on tape, raising continued fire against Israeli state forces in Palestine.

Israeli NGO B’Tselem examined the aftermath of the "Day of Rage” protests in July, where 20-year old Muhammad Abu Ghanam was rushed to hospital after being shot by Israeli security forces during the demonstrations.

The raid in the East Jerusalem hospital, the group pressed, also endangered the lives of other patients, as police pushed through hospital guards and staff in an attempt to arrest the critically injured youth.

"The officers responded with stun grenades and sponge-round fire. About half of the force entered the building, where they split up and searched various wards for the injured youth,” the NGO said, reported RT, releasing CCTV footage of the raid.

During the raid, Israeli police harassed both medical staff and patients inside the maternity ward, the blood bank, and the emergency room, before finding Ghanam and preventing him from being taken to the operating room.

Ghanam’s condition became progressively worse, before he was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes later.

"Words fail to convey the gravity of the police’s conduct inside the hospital,” B’Tselem said. "The fright engendered by scores of armed police raiding a hospital cannot be downplayed. When these feelings of terror are accompanied by an assault on medical staff and interference with medical care, the situation escalates to one of a real risk to the lives of the many patients in the hospital.”

The NGO stressed that Israel continues to violate international law, which marks medical facilities as protected areas.

The "Day of Rage” protests were held in protest of Israeli state crackdowns against Palestinians who sought to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque in occupied East Jerusalem last month.
