Two soldiers were killed on Aug. 1 in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attack in the Lice district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, Doğan News Agency has reported.
PKK militants detonated an explosive placed on a road in a rural area of the district during the passing of troops heading for an operation.
According to early reports, two soldiers were killed in the attack.
Additional troops were also dispatched to the area to launch a large-scale operation in the region.
