According to the statement issued on Sunday, the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan has witnessed several attacks over the past week, carried out by US-Israeli-affiliated groups aiming to undermine national security, sow discord, and damage the unity and solidarity of the Iranian people.
Those attacks resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Iranians, including an accomplished female police official, Nosrat Eftekhari—once again exposing the inhumane nature of terrorism, the statement said, adding that such actions only cause suffering to innocent people and serve the interests of enemies.
"We believe that no terrorist group represents any ethnic or religious community, and therefore criminals must not be allowed to sow discord and exploit national unity and cohesion," a section of the statement read.
It underlined that Sistan and Baluchestan Province, like any part of Iran, deserves sustainable security, peace, and equal opportunities for progress, adding that its location, as well as its historical and cultural ties with Pakistan, necessitates cooperation in confronting terrorism and ensuring sustainable security.
Condoling the martyrdom of Iranian compatriots to their grieving families, the statement also called on the responsible authorities to identify and legally punish all perpetrators and instigators of these crimes, and to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
On Friday, Nosrat Eftekhari, deputy for cultural and social affairs of the police command in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, was killed in a terrorist attack near Zahedan.
