The IRGC said its aerospace forces launched a combined missile and drone operation against two U.S. airbases in Jordan in response to an air attack on the Iranian island of Larak.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck two U.S. airbases in Jordan — King Hussein and al-Azraq — with ballistic missiles on Monday, destroying technical and repair infrastructure and fighter aircraft positions.
In a statement, the IRGC said its aerospace forces carried out a combined missile and drone operation in response to an air attack by the "American-Zionist enemy" on the island of Larak. The operation targeted the technical and maintenance infrastructure and aircraft deployment areas at the two bases, inflicting heavy damage.
The IRGC warned that "aggression and crime" would not solve the enemy's failure to weaken Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, and that every strike would be met with "more crushing responses."
The IRGC statement also praised the Iranian people for "183 nights of uninterrupted epic presence in the field," which it said had astonished the enemy and given hope to the oppressed.
Iran's army also said it targeted U.S. military positions at the Al Minhad airbase in the United Arab Emirates with dozens of drones early Monday, in retaliation for the U.S. attack on Iran's Larak island.
The army said the attacks targeted areas where U.S. helicopters and forces were stationed at Al Minhad, describing the base as a major logistics and air transport hub for foreign forces. The operation was launched in response to the recent U.S. aggression against Larak island and to avenge the martyrs of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and innocent Iranian civilians killed there.
The army's public relations office said its forces will continue to stand firm to ensure lasting security and to protect Iranian territory until the enemy threat is removed from the region. "The army will take revenge for the blood of all the martyrs of the imposed war launched by the American terrorist forces," it said.
