
Addressing Golgohar’s Challenges Through MSTID’s Technology Portfolio, The Portfolio Technotour event held at Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company in Sirjan can be regarded as an important step toward strengthening interaction between major industries and knowledge-based companies. The event could also pave the way for future cooperation between Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund and the Golgohar Group.
According to a Steel correspondent, the “Portfolio Technotour” event organized by Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund (MSTID) was held in Sirjan, Kerman Province, with the aim of introducing the capabilities of the fund’s portfolio companies and addressing the technological needs of Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company. The event, attended by managers from both organizations and featuring technological solutions presented by eight knowledge-based companies, provided a foundation for expanding cooperation between Mobarakeh Steel’s innovation ecosystem and major industries in Kerman Province.
At the event, eight MSTID portfolio companies whose capabilities were most closely aligned with the needs of Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company presented their products, services, and solutions in areas including industrial digitalization, industrial automation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence, drones, vibration measurement equipment, image processing and machine vision, production of specialized copper components, and elemental analysis equipment.
Golgohar: A New Destination for MSTID Portfolio Companies’ Technologies
Mohammadreza Momtaz, Deputy CEO for Investment and Corporate Affairs at Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund, referred to the strategic position of Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company at the event and described it as one of the key players in Iran’s steel industry.
He stated: “With the implementation of its Endless Strip Production (ESP) casting and rolling line project and its development plans, the company has a promising future ahead and will become one of the country’s major steel sheet producers.”
He explained that the objective of the Portfolio Technotour was to establish direct connections between the fund’s portfolio knowledge-based companies and major industries, adding: “The companies participating in this event were selected based on the degree to which their products and services matched Golgohar’s needs, so that technological cooperation could lead to practical and value-creating outcomes for both sides.”
Momtaz also noted the positive response from Golgohar’s managers to the capabilities of MSTID portfolio companies and said: “During the meeting, we also proposed the conclusion of an ‘Open Contract’ with the company. If finalized, this would be the first time such a cooperation model is implemented with an organization outside the Mobarakeh Steel Group.”
Emphasizing the industrial potential of Kerman Province, he added: “The presence of major steel industries, rich mineral resources, infrastructure such as the seawater transfer pipeline, and the continued development of mining and metal industries have made the province one of the most important destinations for expanding the technological cooperation of Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund.”
Investment in Technology, Innovation, Digitalization and the Circular Economy Will Shape the Future of the Steel Industry
Reza Bahadeddini, Director of Research, Innovation and Digitalization at Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company, described the Portfolio Technotour as one of the best specialized events in Iran’s steel industry in recent years.
He stated: “Investment in technology, innovation, digitalization, and the circular economy is shaping the future of the steel industry. Fortunately, the innovation drivers of Mobarakeh Steel and Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund are also built around these same principles.”
Referring to the capabilities presented by the eight knowledge-based companies participating in the event, he said: “Our assessments showed that the products and services of these companies are approximately 90 percent aligned with the challenges and needs of Golgohar Mining & Industrial Development Company. This can provide a foundation for establishing effective and long-term cooperation between the two organizations.”

In addition, during the trip, the Deputy CEO for Investment and Corporate Affairs at Mobarakeh Steel’s Venture Capital Fund visited two portfolio companies, Nikan Faravar Ranging Metal and Data Mining Vira Jorf Kavir.
During these visits, in addition to reviewing the companies’ development plans, discussions and exchanges of views were held on removing market barriers, expanding customer relationships, and broadening cooperation, particularly in the field of mineral exploration and engagement with mining companies.
