Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for legal measures through competent international bodies to seek compensation for damages caused by US attacks on Iran’s strategic transport infrastructure, describing the strikes as brazen war crimes.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, deputies, and senior officials at the ministry, where he reviewed the latest situation of the country’s transportation and logistics infrastructure.
After receiving a report on damages inflicted on Iran’s transport infrastructure, including ports, border terminals, bridges, roads, railroad networks, logistics facilities, and other strategic infrastructure following US attacks, Pezeshkian examined the extent of the losses and the measures being taken for restoration.
He issued directives to accelerate the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, activate alternative routes, enhance the resilience of the transportation network, and facilitate the provision of services.
Referring to the damage caused to Iran’s border terminals, customs facilities, and land, rail, maritime, and air transportation infrastructure, Pezeshkian described the attacks as clear violations of international law and war crimes.
He stressed the need to pursue legal action over the attacks through competent international organizations and judicial bodies.
The Iranian president also highlighted the expansion of regional cooperation and the strengthening of infrastructure links with neighboring countries as strategic priorities of his administration.
