An informed source said Iran will introduce its own amendments to the text of any potential memorandum of understanding with the US currently under discussion, stressing that no part of the proposed draft has been finalized yet.
Commenting on reports by American media outlets claiming that US President Donald Trump has proposed new amendments to the current text, the source said on Sunday night, “The exchange of texts is continuing, and Iran will naturally apply its own amendments to the text as well. Nothing has been finalized yet.”
The source emphasized that “the criterion for Iran is a text that we ourselves accept,” adding that “the fact that Trump has made amendments does not mean that Iran has accepted them.”
According to Tasnim, the informed source also underlined that “Iran is fully prepared for a scenario in which no understanding is reached.”
