IRGC sets new rules of Persian Gulf management

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that the new equations and rules governing the management of the Persian Gulf have been based on the “historic directive” of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

“The equations and rules of the new management of the Persian Gulf have been formulated and will be implemented on the basis of the historic command of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” the IRGC Navy said in a message on Friday night.

“With dominance and control over nearly 2,000 kilometers of Iran’s coastline along the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC Navy will turn this body of water into a source of livelihood and strength for the dear people of Iran and a source of security and prosperity for the region,” it added.

In his first message after election as the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei announced on March 12, “What the Iranian people want is the continuation of an effective defense that makes the enemy regret. Furthermore, the leverage of closing the Strait of Hormuz must definitely continue to be employed. Studies have been conducted regarding opening other fronts where the enemy has minimal experience and where it would be highly vulnerable. Should the war continue, activation of such fronts will be carried out based on certain interests.”
