During his visit to the Ministry of Justice on Monday, Pezeshkian referred to the joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran, saying although the war is not in anyone’s interest, the country, while resisting threats, needs to pursue every rational and diplomatic approach to reduce tensions.
He also pointed to the prevailing distrust of the United States amid the contradictory behaviors of the Americans in the talks and called the utmost vigilance in interactions an undeniable necessity.
Pezeshkian reiterated his call for unity and cohesion at home and among Islamic countries to foil conspiracies hatched by arrogant powers against Muslims, saying the collective participation can help overcome challenges and accomplish dignity and progress.
While receiving a report on the actions and missions of the Ministry of Justice in wartime, the President emphasized the role of the ministry in creating legal coherence between different branches of government, protecting the nation in international arenas, and facilitating the process of compensation for damages caused by the aggressors.
Pezeshkian attributed achievements against the US-Israeli war to coordination between the three branches of the government, the support of the people, and the guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, adding that these achievements should not lead to neglect of the challenges ahead.
He said that the battlefield victory is the beginning of a more important stage, which he called a “Greater Jihad”, in which, all people must play a role in the reconstruction and solving the country’s problems with patience, tolerance, cooperation and active participation.
Pezeshkian also appreciated the support of guilds, producers, and various economic sectors of the country, for their role in managing the situation with careful planning and broader participation.
