PG security collective; for all or no one

The spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said security in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman must be collective, warning that threats to Iranian ports would have wider regional consequences.

The spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that ensuring security in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman is a collective matter, declaring that such security must apply to all or to none.

The statement emphasized that the armed forces of Iran consider the defense of national rights a natural and lawful duty, including the exercise of sovereignty in the country’s territorial waters.

It added that the protection of maritime security in Iranian waters will continue decisively, and reiterated that vessels affiliated with enemy forces are not permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the statement, other vessels may continue transit through the strait provided they comply with regulations set by Iran’s armed forces.

The statement also said that due to ongoing threats, Iran will implement a permanent mechanism to control the Strait of Hormuz even after the end of the conflict.

It further described restrictions imposed by the United States on maritime movement in international waters as illegal and characterized them as acts of piracy, according to Mehr.

The spokesperson warned that if the security of Iranian ports is threatened, no port in the Persian Gulf or Gulf of Oman would remain secure.
