Iran-US ceasefire talks begins after acceptance of Iran's preconditions

In light of intensive consultations in Islamabad, progress in the talks, and the restriction of the Israeli regime’s attacks from Beirut to southern Lebanon—which was considered a sign of progress in implementing the ceasefire—as well as the U.S. side’s acceptance of the release of Iran’s assets and the need for more precise expert and technical discussions in this regard, it was decided that negotiations between Iran and the United States would begin in Islamabad to finalize these issues.

Iran believes that the ceasefire in Lebanon has not yet been fully realized and that the United States is obliged to compel Israel to fulfill this commitment. The Iranian delegation is seriously pursuing this matter both through the Pakistani intermediary and within the negotiation room.

While expressing pessimism toward the opposing side and taking into account the experience of U.S. breaches of commitments in previous negotiations, the Iranian delegation has agreed to participate in this round of talks mediated by Pakistan.
