IRGC denies involvement in attack on US embassy

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has denied any involvement in a reported attack on the United States embassy in Riyadh, warning regional countries to remain alert to provocations by the US and Israeli regimes.

The IRGC issued statement Number 54 related to its Operation True Promise-4, responding to a report cited by American newspaper The Wall Street Journal claiming that the US embassy in the Saudi capital had been targeted.

In the statement, the IRGC condemned the reported attack and said it had no connection whatsoever to the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Given the Israeli regime’s strategy in the region, the incident was certainly carried out by Israeli elements, the IRGC noted.

The IRGC also said that the list of targets for Iran’s Armed Forces had previously been clearly defined, adding that warnings had already been issued to neighboring and Muslim countries about Israeli attempts to create unrest in the region.

The statement further urged West Asian countries to remain vigilant against attempts by the US and Israeli regimes to destabilize and destroy the region.

Analysts noted that the joint US-Israeli invasion, which began on February 28, 2026, following the martyrdom of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, disregarded ongoing indirect negotiations.

In response, Iran launched precise retaliatory strikes against Israeli positions and US bases, citing its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and warned that further escalation will invite a harsher reaction.
