Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region in a telephone call on Tuesday.

Referring to the recent quadrilateral meeting attended by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt in Islamabad, the Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized the support of the countries of the region for stopping the war and establishing peace and stability.

Elaborating on the latest situation of the war imposed by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran, the Iranian foreign minister emphasized the responsibility of all governments to condemn the crimes committed by the aggressors, especially the attacks on schools, universities, and scientific and academic centers, historical and cultural sites, production and energy infrastructure, and residential areas, and stated, “The rhetoric of American officials in openly threatening to attack Iran's energy and manufacturing infrastructure is per se a criminal threat and a sign of the US government's clear disregard for the basic principles of international law and humanitarian principles, and it is necessary for the international community to show a decisive response to it.”

Araghchi called the reports published by some sources regarding the launch of missiles from Iran towards Turkey completely baseless and, while warning against the repetition of false flag operations by the enemies of peace and friendship in the region, he stated,  “The Islamic Republic of Iran considers itself committed to observing the principle of good neighborliness and respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Turkey and is ready for joint technical cooperation to investigate any such claims.”
