Iran, Turkey defense ministers discuss US-Israeli aggression on Iran

Iran’s Acting Minister of Defense Brigadier General Majid Ebn-e-Reza and Turkey's National Defense Minister held a telephone conversation late on Sunday to discuss US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

During the phone call, Iran's acting defense minister pointed to the Zionist regime's sedition and warmongering in the region, describing the aggressions of the United States and the Zionist regime in two stages of war waged against Iran ‘contrary to the international law and standards.’

Brigadier General Ebn-e-Reza emphasized Iran's decisive response within its legitimate right to self-defense.

Despite its awareness and lack of trust in America, Iran, in order to prove its goodwill and respect for the countries of the region, agreed to the negotiations and tried to remove the shadow of war from the region through diplomacy and dialogue, but the military attack by the United States and the Zionist regime left the Islamic Republic of Iran no other choice than to defend itself, he underlined.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iran’s acting defense minister referred to the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, high-ranking military officials and commanders, innocent people, and especially massacring of more than 160 innocent students at Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, and also attack on the Dena destroyer on its way back home from an international peace mission, which was not on the battlefield, stating that these are examples of state terrorism and war crimes committed by the US and the Zionist regime, and they have plunged the region into war, a crisis of instability and insecurity."

The recent developments have shown that what is important to America is the security of the Zionist regime, he said, noting that Iran will certainly continue to fully punish the aggressors with all its might, create effective deterrence, and ensure that war and aggression will not be repeated, Mehr reported.

Emphasizing respect for the sovereignty of all neighboring countries, he added that security is an endogenous issue that arises from a consensus and collective agreement, and Iran is ready to sign bilateral and multilateral defense agreements with the regional countries if it is assured that the military bases in the region would not be availed to the aggressors in order to attack Iran.
