Over 42,000 civilian units damaged in US-Israeli war on Iran

In comments on Saturday, Fatemeh Mohajerani announced that over 42,000 civilian units have sustained damage due to enemy attacks in the ongoing war of aggression during the past 15 days.

Providing a breakdown of the statistics related to assaults on civilian areas, she reported that 42,914 civilian units have been affected, among which 36,489 are residential, including 10,000 units in Tehran province. Additionally, 6,179 commercial units have also suffered damage. The death toll for women stands at 223, while 2,729 women have been reported injured.

Continuing on the healthcare sector's losses, Mohajerani specified that 43 emergency base units have been affected, with three being completely destroyed. Furthermore, 32 ambulances have incurred damage, and five ambulances along with two ambulance buses are entirely lost.

In reference to healthcare facilities, the spokesperson noted that 35 medical units and 152 health centers have been impacted, with more than 16 fatalities reported within the healthcare sector. The education sector has also faced severe repercussions, with 120 schools sustaining significant damage and a total of 206 educators and students reported as casualties, Tasnim reported.

Regarding the administration’s response to these assaults on urban infrastructure, Mohajerani stated that all stakeholders in the water and electricity sectors quickly mobilized to address the damage, implementing repairs at 229 locations affected in the power network to restore electricity supply.

Moreover, the spokesperson elaborated on municipal services provided to citizens, indicating that approximately 1,000 families, totaling over 3,000 individuals, have been accommodated in 12 housing complexes, as reported by the Tehran municipality.

The US and the Zionist regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
