US, Europe after Iran’s resources, not welfare of its people

Speaking at a meeting of provincial governors on Monday, Pezeshkian sharply criticized the West’s hypocritical posture toward recent developments in Iran, particularly under the pretext of defending human rights.

He said Western governments are not focused on the well-being of Iranians but are instead driven by their own interests in Iran’s oil, gas, natural resources, and national wealth.

The president noted that the same governments that claim to champion human rights simultaneously support the Israeli regime’s most brutal and inhumane crimes in Gaza.

Pezeshkian added that during Iran’s recent unrest, Western countries openly supported rioters and acts of violence.

He further emphasized that the livelihoods of the Iranian people remain a key target of the country’s adversaries, stressing that ensuring public satisfaction in this area would neutralize hostile agendas and enhance national resilience.

The president also called on provincial security councils to exercise greater precision and vigilance in safeguarding public security and monitoring hostile activities.

Expressing confidence in Iran’s ability to overcome current challenges, Pezeshkian said the country would succeed through reliance on God and a steadfast commitment to serving the people.

He concluded by stressing that as long as public satisfaction remains the cornerstone of government policy, no external power would be able to marginalize the Iranian people from the national arena.
