Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, issued a sharp warning to US President Donald Trump on Friday, saying any American interference in Iran’s internal affairs would destabilize the entire region and endanger US interests.
In a reaction to threatening messages from US and Israeli officials, Larijani said Trump should understand that US involvement in Iran’s domestic issues would have wide regional consequences.
Writing on his official account on the X platform, Larijani said recent statements by Israeli officials and Trump had clarified “the reality behind the scenes.”
“With the positions taken by Israeli officials and Trump, the background of the affair has become clear,” Larijani wrote.
“We distinguish between the stance of the protesting shopkeepers and the actions of disruptive actors, and Trump should know that US interference in this internal matter would mean destabilizing the entire region and destroying America’s interests,” he added.
Meanwhile, Larijani said the American public should be aware of who initiated the escalation. “The American people should know that Trump started the adventurism,” he wrote.
“They should be mindful of their soldiers’ safety,” Larijani added.
A senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution also reacted to Trump's treats and said that any interventionist hand approaching Iran’s security under false pretexts will be cut off before reaching the country with a regret-inducing response.
In a post on his X account on Friday, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani wrote, “The Iranian people know the American idea of “rescue” all too well — from the experience of Iraq and Afghanistan to Gaza.”
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also emphasized that in their dialogue and efforts to resolve domestic issues, Iranians will not permit any form of foreign interference.
Esmaeil Baqaei made the remarks in a post on X on Friday, responding to interventionist comments by US President Donald Trump.
He noted that a review of the long record of US politicians’ actions to “rescue” the Iranian people reveals the true extent of American sympathy toward the Iranian nation.
Baqaei also listed examples of US interventions in Iran:
Organizing the coup of August 19, 1953, against the elected government of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh by financing and arming rioters,
Shooting down Iran’s passenger airliner in 1988, killing innocent women and children over the Persian Gulf,
Full-scale support for Saddam Hussein during the eight-year war against Iranians,
Collusion with the Israeli regime in assassinations and massacres of Iranians, as well as attacks on Iran’s infrastructure in June 2025,
Imposing sanctions described as the most severe in history,
And today, once again, issuing threats of attacking Iran under the pretext of compassion for Iranians.
He stressed that these measures constitute “a blatant violation of the most fundamental principle of international law.”
Baqaei reiterated that Iranians, in their dialogue and pursuit of solutions to their problems, will not allow any kind of foreign interference.
"Iran’s national security is a red line, not a playground for reckless posts," he added in reaction to the US President Donald Trump's post on Truth Social.
Trump on Friday issued a new threat against Iran, claiming that Washington is “locked and loaded” and ready to intervene should Iranian authorities allegedly use violence against protesters.
In a post published on his social media platform, Trump wrote that if Iran “shoots and violently kills peaceful protesters,” the United States would “come to their rescue.”
