In a phone conversation on Saturday, the two officials discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation.
Doval congratulated Larijani on his appointment as Iran's top security official, acknowledging the significance of the role during a critical period.
Larijani emphasized the importance of enhancing economic ties and deepening collaboration in security and defense between the two nations.
He also proposed initiatives to advance the Chabahar port development project, a strategic undertaking for both countries, IRNA reported.
The two sides agreed to continue their discussions during Larijani’s upcoming visit to India, with the aim of broadening cooperation across multiple sectors.
