Araghchi says misunderstanding with Qatar resolved

Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has said that all misunderstandings between Iran and Qatar have been fully resolved following his recent visit to the Persian Gulf country, describing the talks with Qatari officials as “fruitful, serious, and constructive.”

Speaking to Al-Sharq newspaper in Doha on Friday, Araghchi praised his meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, highlighting the positive outcome of their discussions.

He noted that the talks focused on Iran-Qatar relations and addressed the misunderstanding stemming from Iran’s response to a US strike, which had involved an attack on the Al Udeid base in Qatar.

Araghchi also said that his discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, had been productive and beneficial.

The meetings covered regional stability, the importance of renewed dialogue among neighboring countries, and joint efforts to counter the expansionist ambitions and aggression of the Israeli regime.

The Iranian nuclear program was another key topic discussed thoroughly in the meetings, he said and added that Qatar had consistently held constructive stance.

Araghchi arrived in Qatar on Thursday for high-level talks with Qatari leadership. The full interview with Araghchi is scheduled for publication on Sunday.
