President Masoud Pezeshkian says his administration will implement all foreign policy decisions and negotiations in full coordination with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“None of the policies with regard to international relations or negotiations is being pursued without coordinating with the Leader,” Pezeshkian said at a meeting with media executives on the occasion of Journalist's Day in Tehran on Sunday.
The president insisted that this approach “is not merely a slogan,” but a foundational principle of his administration.
“Scientifically and ideologically, I believe that anything that goes against the Leader’s opinion should be avoided,” he said.
The president said Ayatollah Khamenei is the pillar and foundation of the Islamic Republic, and issues must be followed only if they are consistent with his directives, according to IRNA.
Pezeshkian also underlined the need for fostering national unity, a driving theme of his administration’s domestic policy. He warned that the country will suffer if the foundations and framework of national cohesion are undermined.
“During the 12-day war, the enemies expected internal rebellion and discord, and they are still waiting for the same,” the president said, adding that the nation must defeat the enemy through unity and cohesion.
