Araghchi made the remarks on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday afternoon, where he also told the journalists that, "Negotiations with the IAEA will be held tomorrow to determine a framework for cooperation. A deputy of Director General [Rafael] Grossi will come to Tehran tomorrow, while there are no plans to visit any nuclear sites until we reach a framework, and [our] bilateral cooperation will not begin. This framework will also be based on a piece of legislation approved by the Iranian parliament."

He continued, "Our contacts with the Europeans are continuing. They have brought up the issue of the snapback mechanism, but our position is that snapback is not relevant. In our opinion, Europe is not considered a participant in the JCPOA. Of course, there are technical and legal discussions that my colleagues are in contact with the Europeans, but no time has been set for the next talks."

On June 25, the Iranian Parliament unanimously passed a law mandating the government to suspend all cooperation with the IAEA. Under the law, the agency’s inspectors will not be permitted to enter Iran unless the security of the country's nuclear facilities and that of peaceful nuclear activities is guaranteed, which is subject to the approval of the Supreme National Security Council.

In response to a question about fresh negotiations between Iran and the United States, Araghchi said the next round of talks has not been fixed yet.

He noted that indirect Tehran-Washington talks have not yet been finalized, adding that he does not confirm any country as the host of the negotiations, according to Mehr.

Iran and the United States had held five rounds of indirect talks on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program before the Israeli regime launched a war of aggression on June 13.

Mediated by Oman, the 6th round of talks had been planned to be held in the Omani capital of Muscat on June 15, but was called off due to the Israeli attacks.
