
Speaking in an interview with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of his visit to New York, Ishaq Dar said Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Pakistan and expressed hope this trip will take place in early August.
Pakistan supports diplomacy and a wise approach in the region and welcomes all efforts toward de-escalation and dialogue with Iran, he added.
He said that he was in close contact with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, adding that because Pakistan is a neighbor of Iran, it cannot remain silent regarding recent events, including the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
He condemned the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran and the U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying Pakistan cannot remain indifferent to a wrongful act, even if it is carried out by a friendly country.
Diplomacy and dialogue are the only way out of the current situation, and Pakistan will continue to support both sides, he said.
He affirmed that Pakistan’s high-level efforts for any mediation aimed at advancing regional diplomacy.
Earlier Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said President Pezeshkian is to visit Pakistan, adding that it demonstrates the importance we attach to bilateral relations with Pakistan.
