Iran’s exports to Afghanistan rise by 31 percent

Tehran’s exports to Afghanistan have surged by 31 percent during the first three months of Iranian calendar year (March 22 – June 20), said Chairman of Iran-Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce Mahmoud Siyadat.

Iran’s exports to Afghanistan rise by 31 percentTABNAK, Aug, 20: Siyadat further called for holding control of Afghan market for Iran through joint investment between the two neighbors.

During last three years and concurrent with Taliban’s coming to power, the level of trade between Tehran and Kabul has declined, however the neighbor’s market is getting more profitable for Iran since past months.

Iran’s exports to Afghanistan hit US$517 million during the spring.

However, Afghanistan is currently a US$2 billion market for Iranian exports whose amount can be increased to US$10 billion in case all the potential is used.   

light oils and petroleum products, petroleum gases, iron and steel ingots, polyethylene compounds, non-velvet woven floor coverings, urea, eggs, light and heavy hydrocarbons, cement, fruit and vegetables, types of polyethylene and ceramic tiles are the most important export data-x-items to Afghanistan.
