India's PM to Visit Japan in Late October

India''s PM, Narendra Modi, will make an official working visit to Japan on October 28-29 to attend the 13th Annual Summit between both countries, according to official sources.

India''s PM, Narendra Modi, will make an official working visit to Japan on October 28-29 to attend the 13th Annual Summit between both countries, according to official sources.

This will be the fifth annual Summit between Prime Minister Modi and his Japanese counterpart, Shinzo Abe, and its twelfth general meeting since 2014, according to the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Within the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, the two leaders will hold extensive two-day discussions on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Modi's visit will reaffirm the traditional friendship ties between the two countries and strengthen their multifaceted cooperation in several fields, explains the Foreign Ministry's note.

It will also promote the vision of India and Japan working together to foster peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond, it adds.
