Turkey and Russia agreed on the borders of a disarmament zone in Syria's Idlib province following a three-day meeting, Turkish Defence Ministry announced on Friday, China’s Xinhua news agency reported.

The ministry said in a statement that it held a meeting with the Russian delegation in Ankara on Sept. 19-21 to discuss the implementation of the Sochi agreement for Idlib.

"During the meetings, the borders of the disarmament zone were determined after considering the geographical structure and settlements in Idlib," it added.

Meanwhile, Turkish and Russian security and intelligence officials are working together on a roadmap planned within the Sochi deal on Idlib, Turkish presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin said Friday.

They are seeking a solution to separate radical militants from the moderate opposition and withdraw these groups from the disarmament zone, he said.
