Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump held a phone conversation on Monday over Syrian and bilateral issues.

Erdogan and Trump touched on the judicial issues between Turkey and the U.S., and expressed their determination to advance bilateral relations in every field, the presidential office said in statement.

They agreed that the implementation of the Manbij roadmap will make a significant contribution to the solution of the Syrian crisis.

Erdogan and Trump also discussed last week's NATO summit and "exchanged views regarding developments in Syria."

The phone conversation comes after a meeting of the joint U.S.-Turkey working group, where two allies discussed Washington's demand for release of detained U.S. citizens in Turkey and the extradition of U.S.-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara accuses of plotting a failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
