A recent survey shows 70 percent of Tehran’s residents are satisfied with services rendered by the subway transportation system.
The Persian newspaper ‘Tehran-e Emrouz’ released the results of a survey about the level of satisfaction in Tehran with regard to different types of public transportation.
Some 60 percent of Tehranis use public transportation in their inner-city trips, Aftab News reported.
This research was carried out by Tehran Municipality’s Directorate for Social and Cultural Studies and indicates that the subway system is very popular in the capital.
About 50 percent were satisfied with the bus system and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses were most popular.
The survey reveals that the selection of Tehran among the five top cities of the world in the field of urban transportation was not baseless.
The reason behind this selection is the expansion of subway and BRT systems.
Last week, a Washington-based transportation institute ranked Tehran among the five top cities of the world in the field of urban transportation.
In the survey, some 40 percent of the respondents said they were very satisfied with the subway system and 30 percent said they were extremely satisfied with it.
Adding up these figures will that on the whole, 70 percent of Tehranis are satisfied with the subway transportation system.
