According to Mehr News Agency, Rohani will lead the orchestra as the guest conductor in two concerts due to be held during the annual festival from February 21 to 27, 2011.
The world-renowned conductor accompanied the orchestra in a series of concerts at Tehran's Vahdat Hall in May and June of 2010.
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra has been working with guest conductors since the departure of its permanent conductor Manuchehr Sahbai in May 2010.
Sahbai conducted the orchestra in a government-sponsored European concert tour, presenting the Peace and Friendship Symphony.
Iranian musician and the composer of the Islamic Revolution and Resistance symphonies, Majid Entezami took the helm of the orchestra after Sahbai accompanying the group in a number of national concerts.
Officials started hiring international guest conductors after Entezami, the first of whom was German musician Matthias Kruger.
The 30-year-old conductor was then replaced with Iranian musician Nader Mortezapour, who accompanied the orchestra in several concerts in Doha and Tehran.
The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra's chief conductor Derek Gleeson also led the Tehran Symphony Orchestra as a guest conductor in concerts held in December 2010 at Tehran's Vahdat Hall.
The annual Fajr International Music Festival is held along with other cultural events and festivals to commemorate the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
