President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Chief of Staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei called for effective measures to forge unity among the Middle East and Muslim states.
"The Muslim world’s success requires protection and unity and integrity among the Ummah,” Fars News Agency quoted him as saying in a meeting with the chief of Jordan’s Royal Court Nasser Al-Lozi in Amman on Sunday.
Mashaei, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Amman on Saturday.
Regarding Tehran-Amman ties, Ahmadinejad’s advisor on Middle East affairs stressed the two countries’ commonalities.
Lozi called for expansion in bilateral relations and stressed "Jordan is pursuing expansion of all-out ties with Iran.”
He reiterated that the Arab country recognizes Iran’s nuclear rights and "Access to peaceful nuclear energy is the right of the Iranian nation…Jordan believes in a peaceful solution to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear issue.”
